Overview

We are hiring a Sr. Production Planner to be responsible for the manufacturing budget and margin associated to a suite of BHN Card Production clients distributing their gift card content into our Retail and eCommerce channels. This Planner will work with our packaging engineer and Print Suppliers to innovate on products, price card production services and manage our suppliers’ timelines from product inception to delivery of goods. Must be a highly organized project manager with excellent customer service skills and the ability to troubleshoot and prioritize jobs with Suppliers and our internal/external Clients. Must have adaptive technical and functional skills - efficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft D365 suite of programs, including the ERP, Teams and CRM project management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manages print production budget and margin for key BHN clients, taking responsibility for production planning, pricing, product packaging development, process improvement, escalation, cross functional and external collaboration.
  • Defines production specifications with the client and manages production estimates, examines Suppliers’ bids, awards print jobs, monitors project costs, schedule, and scope to assure quality and on-time delivery.
  • Evaluates vendor reliability and suggests new supply sources where suppliers are no longer competitive.
  • Attend press checks to ensure client to the approves of color, substrate, content, quality with minimal impact to cost for production of materials.
  • Support Product Packaging Engineer and Suppliers to innovate on BHN product packaging.
  • Performs project management through the production cycle including quote and bid completion, Purchase Order and Sales Order creation in D365, creation and management of Statement of Work, procurement and project management of all Supplier milestones, logistics planning, and invoice reconciliation in D365.
  • Upon completion of jobs, responsible for auditing submitted invoices and ensuring all supporting documentation is complete, including Supplier corrective action forms if applicable.
  • Work independently with internal clients and Suppliers to support Blackhawk product initiatives.
  • Managing production options and troubleshooting alternative product and timing solutions with Account Management, Sales, Inventory Control, and Design teams. Provide clear direction to Supplier contacts and provide timely updates to all internal parties.
  • Advise, guide, and influence internal clients to appropriate alternate solutions and resolve discrepancies or priorities.
  • Monitors Grid Pricing schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
  • Work collaboratively with team-members, providing peer-advice and suggestions to trouble-shoot or resolve discrepancies or answer questions with daily process.
  • Provide back-up and assistance in job management to team members during peak times.
  • Meet cost saving and speed to market goals for the team.
  • Support department metric development through culture of data maintenance and proactive management of team projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and minimum 8 years in Supply Chain, Procurement or Vendor Management, preferably in materials and print production.
  • Direct experience with production pre-press and/or print facility environments.
  • Experience directly managing or indirectly influencing people.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills are required.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment with limited direction.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and the ability to influence and partner with clients.
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of SOX accounting rules.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft D365 programs including Teams, Excel, Outlook, D365 and CRM.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel 20%

Benefits

Salary Range for California Residents Only: $101,660.00 to $120,000.00
