*The Wylie Inn and Conference Center is seeking an* *Assistant Banquet Manager* The Wylie Inn & Conference Center employees are part of the Endicott College community and share in the beautiful campus offerings and great employee benefits. Situated on a picturesque stretch of the Atlantic Coast on Bostons North Shore, the Wylie Inn and Conference Center at Endicott College offers well appointed, comfortable accommodations with an on-site caf restaurant and bar; state of the art IACC certified conference center and an elegant social event venue, Tupper Manor. The Wylie Inn and Conference Center is ideal for a weekend getaway, retreat or conference. This lush 10-acre inn and conference center is just minutes away from historic downtown Salem, restaurants, scenic Cape Ann, shopping, museums and more.
The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Banquet Manager are:
* Hire, schedule, train, and supervise all banquet staff to include conducting roll call and monthly meetings, illustrating the proper techniques and etiquette for buffet and parade types of service.
* Define performance requirements, develop action plans for achievement of goals, and monitor staff performance.
* Supervise the setup of function rooms to include placement of linen, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications; visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory and set up.
* Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of function with the Culinary, Service, Beverage, Meetings and Conventions, and Engineering staffs, as well as the host to ensure timely execution of events, quality service and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations along with corporate standards.
Qualifications include:
* Any combination of education, training, or experience equivalent to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
* High school diploma required
* College degree preferred
