Schedule: 24 hours/week. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.
Compensation:
DNP/PMHNP: Salaried position. Approximate hourly rate: $80.07- $88.06/hr
MD/DO: Salaried position. Approximate hourly rate: $120.15 -$132.15/hr

About the PSRB Program: The Forensic Medical Director plays a crucial role in overseeing the psychiatric needs of ourPsychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB) program which includes medication management, forensic assessments, and communicating with providers and the PSRB board. Additionally, this position will be providing supervision for our Community justice programs LMP's, and forensic consultation to other programs. This leadership position demands a professional who can promote integrated care, uphold our vision of trauma-informed and person-first approaches, and foster a work environment that values inclusion, safety, and acceptance.
Position Overview: The Program Medical Director is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the medical components of PSRB and other forensic-related programming at Cascadia. This leadership position requires a professional who can promote integrated care, uphold our vision of trauma-informed and person-first approaches, and foster a work environment that values inclusion, safety, and acceptance.
Essential Duties:
  • Provide psychiatric medication services to PSRB clients (70 clients 70% of whom live in residential facilities)
  • Testify at PSRB hearings
  • Evaluations for PSRB clients
  • Participate in PSRB staff consultations, interdisciplinary meetings, and forensic START assessments
  • Lead and enhance a culture supporting whole-person health and well-being, ensuring care integration across departments.
  • Consult and coordinate treatment decisions with internal stakeholders, building strong partnerships with health care providers to enhance client services.
  • Provide high-quality psychiatric assessments, medication consultations, and management.
  • Develop operational procedures and systems aligned with program goals and Cascadia's mission.
  • Implement Quality Improvement principles to integrate best practices and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Supervisory Oversight:
  • In collaboration with program leadership, determine staffing requirements, recruit, hire, and train staff in a manner that encourages and maintains diversity and cultural responsiveness.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary staff meetings and training with program to discuss safety concerns, crisis management, complex client needs and risks and critical incidents.
  • Ensure completion of personal and team documentation as required by assigned programs.
  • Establish work plans and priorities for staff members, assess the progress of staff members.
  • Provide consistent supervision and support for direct reports.
  • Promote and ensure completion of annual training requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
Qualifications:
  • MD, DO, or Doctor of Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active State Nursing License as a PMHNP or an active Oregon Medical License.
  • DEA certification.
  • Minimum of 8 years of clinical experience, preferably in a community mental health setting.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience within a community safety net organization.
  • 2 years of forensic experience required
Skills and Competencies:
  • Advanced knowledge of risk assessment and crisis intervention.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based practices and strength-based case management.
  • High level of decision-making and interpersonal skills for effective public relations, leadership, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to operate necessary technology including Electronic Health Record systems.
