McKeown Preschool is Hiring a Preschool Coordinator Near Beverly, MA

In addition, responsible for providing for the overall well-being of the preschool students and supporting the transition from preschool to kindergarten. This is a Unit B administrative position (214 days) that works under the supervision of the Administrator of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services. Essential Functions and Duties of the Position:1. Provide instructional leadership: Monitor and support instructional activities, participate in and provide staff development, have knowledge of curriculum and standards, evaluate the instructional practices of early childhood teachers.2. Communication: Communicate the vision of the school to all stakeholders, be an active listener, maintain cooperative professional relationships, provide opportunities for two way communication between school and community, district office and school, and with parents. 3. Manage students: monitor and maintain consistent standards for student behavior, provide activities to involve students in all aspects of early childhood school life, monitor attendance, and maintain guidance and health services for the children.4. Manage faculty and staff: recruit, hire, train and evaluate all staff members, motivate, and provide a positive work environment.5. Oversee operations: Develop master schedule, oversee/coordinate scheduling processes, monitor licensing and program policy implementation.6. Oversee facilities: supervise the maintenance of all facilities and equipment, identify and plan for future facilities needs, develop procedures for transportation, building safety and emergencies.7. Manage budget: prepare, administer, and oversee the building budget, write and oversee Early Childhood 262 grant, oversee tuition collection for community students.8. Oversee special education requirements: process all preschool referrals, chair Team meetings, facilitate IEP development, organize data collection for Indicators 7 and 12, oversee preschool summer school referrals and programming, participate in district-level compliance activities. 9. Community involvement: coordinate community activities and involvement and act as a liaison to community agencies, including organizing Round Robin to support transition to kindergarten.10.. Professional Development: provide ongoing professional development opportunities and facilitate trainings for staff during PD 11. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. QualificationsPossession of a Master’s degree or higher;Evidence of at least three years of successful administrative experience in Special Education and/or early childhood or primary grades;Massachusetts DESE administrator’s license as a Supervisor/Director, Administrator of Special Education, or Principal/Assistant Principal in Grades PreK and K;Additional Massachusetts DESE license in special education is strongly preferred;Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:Demonstrated experience as a successful educational leader;Experience facilitating communication between groups and group decision making;Strong budget management and grant writing;Demonstrated effective interpersonal and leadership skills;Excellent communication oral and written skills, including the effective utilization of technology and information management tools.Proven ability in curriculum development, supervision and organization and strategic planning.Evidence of successful experience supervising and evaluating professional staff preferred;Ability to develop and implement professional development for staff;Evidence of goal setting for student academic instruction, social competencies, school/community relationships and physical environment of the school;Understanding of the Massachusetts School Curriculum Frameworks for Grade PreK and K students;Exceptional organizational skills;Ability and willingness to be visible and accessible to the community;Demonstrated personal attributes of integrity, good judgment and courage;Willingness to work to resolve problems with fairness and compassion;Depth of knowledge regarding special education laws, regulations, processes and proceduresSkill in interpreting assessments and determining educational interventions in response to a learning profile;Demonstrated skill in meeting facilitation, case management, and communicationDemonstrated ability to effectively manage the special education referral and team process.
