Bethel University School of Nursing has an immediate opening for a full-time faculty member.

Nursing Faculty The faculty in nursing serve as catalysts in assisting students towards holistic development by functioning as exemplary role models in classroom and clinical settings. An MSN with a clinical specialty. Must maintain an active, unencumbered RN license.

This responsibility is assigned by the Dean of Nursing (DON) and VPAS and is a nine-month position.

It is the duty and responsibility of the faculty to perform, at a satisfactory level,

the following tasks:

• Assist in the evaluation of goals, policies, and procedures for the program in nursing.
• Serve as an effective liaison between the University and the appropriate health care agencies.
• Evaluate students in the theoretical or clinical setting on a systematic on-going basis and submit student evaluations at the end of each rotation/semester (clinical).
• Serve as a listening agent during the first step of the student grievance procedure.
• Serve on appropriate committee(s) as assigned and when elected by the faculty.
• Assist in the evaluation of the curriculum, organizing structure, program outcomes, level student learning outcomes, and course student learning outcomes utilizing the Systematic Plan for Program Evaluation calendar.
• Update course syllabi.
• Serve as academic advisor to students (selected faculty).
• Teach courses within own discipline and others as assigned.
• Conduct a peer evaluation on a selected faculty member (completed by the end of the academic year).
• Serve on appropriate interdepartmental committees either as member or appointed chair.
• Submit requests for supplies and equipment for consideration to the CGC or DON.
• Attend seminars and conferences germane to the chosen discipline and baccalaureate and associate degree nursing education. Earn at least 15 contact hours of credit per year in continuing education in the area of educational responsibilities.
• Post and maintain required office hours.
• Complete at least one scholarly work meeting Boyer's definition of scholarship, and complete an annual collation of scholarly activities.
• Assist in recruitment as requested and assigned.
• Support potential dropouts and students with academic/personal difficulties and make appropriate referrals.
• Review library materials annually to ensure the presence of books and journals to meet course needs, submitting requests when appropriate.
• Demonstrate personal Christian values.
• Maintain current CPR certification, and provide documentation or immunity of the following: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu (annually), TB screening (annually), and other clinical agency requirements as indicated.
