JOB HIGHLIGHT:

The primary duty of our HVAC Technician is to repair, replace, and maintain the HVAC systems at various properties, owned by our client in Miami, FL.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Journeyman level skills in troubleshooting and servicing HVAC Equipment.
• Service equipment to include recovering refrigerant, repairing leaks, replacing components, etc.
• Some smaller replacements may occur in-house.
• Proper usage of HVAC tools to include recovery machine, vacuum pump, manifold gauges, oxy-acetylene torches, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Available on call 24/7 for emergencies
• Work overtime as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: 

• Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
• Knowledge of principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Working knowledge of Internet, Email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials.
• Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stoop, climb, balance, kneel and crouch to gain access to pipes, wiring and equipment.
• Must be able to handle a variety of hand and power tools.
• Near visual acuity needed to read equipment diagrams and inspect parts.
• Depth perception, field of vision and color vision needed in fitting and installing parts.
• Exposed to wet and very hot conditions.
• Exposed to noise and vibration from operating machinery.
• Must be able to lift any trade tools, material, and equipment.
• Must be able to reach overhead.
• May be required to work in confined areas to access equipment. 
• Keeps management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
• Communicates with the customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2-year degree in air conditioning or similar field or at least 3-5 years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of various types of HVAC equipment to include split systems, air handlers, chillers, VRF, and pumps.
• EPA 608 Universal (CFC Certification) Required
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent AB Facility Services to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. 
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site. 
• Computer experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
