We are currently looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to help drive the design and implementation of our ever-growing Application Development Platform. As a Senior Engineer, you will be integral in shaping the direction of our cloud architecture and strategy. We look to provide a cohesive development environment to empower other teams to build amazing applications that drive trading decisions. We focus on automating workflows and building/using core cloud products to help stitch together a platform that makes developers more effective and efficient.
What You'll Do

• Design and develop integrated solutions with automated tests to validate your changes
• Expand and enhance existing systems in the domains of Continuous Integration and Delivery, Infrastructure as Code, Job Orchestration, Development Environment Automation, Stream Processing Infrastructure, and IAM and Data Governance.
• Own a solution from inception to delivery through receiving feedback from stakeholders, documenting design decisions, and establishing monitoring and long-term maintainability
• Treat internal development teams as customers and regularly communicate with them to help deliver a high-quality platform that empowers teams to become self-serviced.
• Monitor and improve our FinOps strategy by getting cloud cost data into development teams' hands
• Expand your knowledge of all things that help other developers/quants be more effective
• Express your unique knowledge base to other team members to help us make better products and break established assumptions on how things should work
• Listen and learn from other team members to level up your design and development skills

What You'll Need

• 5 years of relevant Cloud Development and Architecture Design (Kubernetes)
• 2 years of a proven track record of delivering development platforms
• 2 years of experience with Terraform and Google Cloud Platform (or equivalent)
• Experience with multiple languages (polyglot) with a focus on Python as well as at least one statically typed language (C , C#, Java, etc)
• An understanding of development techniques and best practices for refactoring and designing highly maintainable code
• Ability to take full ownership (design, implement, test, deploy, maintain) of projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Possess an entrepreneurial spirit

Nice to have

• 2 years of experience with BigQuery
• Experience with Job Orchestration Services like Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with ArgoCD and Helm Charts
• "You were born to deploy Kubernetes clusters"
