Job Summary:

The Product Manager is an expert on Wireless Products and their application in advanced manufacturing automation systems. He/She is responsible for the strategic planning, definition, and positioning of Belden's industrial wireless products, including the development of collateral materials and documentation, defining part numbers and pricing strategies, and working closely with the development organization to deliver best-in-class products. He/She also works closely with sales, commercial marketing, and technical support to ensure all customer satisfaction goals are met, while supporting the company's overall strategy and goals.

You will make a difference in the following ways:

Delivering Successful Products

  • Be the global "voice of the product"by defining goals, scope, budget, and other product constraints through the product life cycle including constraint prioritization
  • Validate prioritized constraints with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Set strategic direction based on customer needs and business goals
  • Interpret strategic goals into operational tasks
  • Guide the teams to accomplish the defined and agreed upon business objectives
  • Serve as the leader of cross functional teams. Lead, coordinate, and supervise the team towards the goal of launching and managing the product throughout its life cycle
  • Create MRD proposals to senior management regarding the implementation of proposed plans including functional descriptions, pricing and ROI calculations
  • Serve as a representative to internal and external clients. Take the lead to establish tactical plans and objectives.

Defining and owning the Product Roadmap(s)

  • Develop short and long term product and marketing plans through customer needs, sales justification, industry trends, competitive and market analysis, critical success factors, issues, risks, etc.
  • Responsible for being the Product Champion promoting all key product attributes and functionality prior to development and throughout the product life cycle.

Communicate and build relationship with Global Sales Team

  • Responsible for Product Launch, collaborative material content, promotions, publicity, sales and support training, building sales strategypresentations, training video requirements and assisting with regional and national/international trade shows.

Manage Relationships with Partners

  • Build relationship with DevelopmentPartners so that combined efforts result in a Win-Win solution.
  • Be the main contact point for all issues, including technical, business, etc.
  • Manage Partner development efforts, including but not limited to interaction with other Belden organizations/departments.
  • Lead and Communicate Technologies
    • Responsible for authoring supportive Technical White Papers, hosting Webinars, and speaking at trade symposiums
    • Approve final language used in publications

Initiate and Manage Interdepartmental Communication

  • Communicate and coordinate product requirements and plans with Sales, Development, Test, Commercial Marketing, and Technical Support with clear and understood goals, building trust in overcoming challenges.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience in a technical discipline.
  • 8 or more years of experience in a job in the communication or automation markets in either adevelopment or business management role, with specific emphasis in wireless technology
  • Possess a combination of excellent written and communication skills.
  • Experience with the application of cellular (4G LTE and 5G) and IEEE 802.11 (WiFi 5, WiFi 6) technologies in industrial processes.
  • Understands use and application of Belden and other industrial automation products and is able to communicate this knowledge to others.
  • Proactively resolves problems and anticipates the needs of our channel and customers.
  • Highly flexible self-starter and results-oriented.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25-50% of the time.
