Behavioral Health Services of VA is Hiring a Behavior Technician Near Henrico, VA

Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder by implementing strategies and interventions to reduce challenging behaviors and improve social and communication skills. You will work collaboratively with a team of Behavior Analysts, teachers, and parents to ensure that each child receives the best possible intervention. Your excellent interpersonal skills and dedication to providing quality care will be essential in this role. Job Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans for clients and implement behavior-analytic interventions

• Collect, record, and analyze data to assess progress

• Report progress and outcomes to supervisor

• Educate family members and other professionals on behavior-analytic principles and interventions

• Collaborate with a team of professionals to develop and implement behavior plans

• Provide direct supervision and support to clients

• Teach adaptive skills and appropriate social behaviors

• Participate in regularly scheduled supervision meetings and case reviews

• Communicate regularly with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care

• Attend training and supervision to stay current with best practices

• Participate in continuing education activities to maintain professional certification

Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

• Possess at least 6 months of experience working with individuals with special needs

• Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Complete the BACB Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and pass the RBT Competency Assessment

• Possess knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

• Demonstrate a commitment to ethical standards and behavior-analytic principles

• Ability to use positive reinforcement and other behavior change techniques

• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with special needs and their families

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to document and track data accurately

• Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to changing environments and needs
