77 Consultants is Hiring a CT Tech - Imaging (Nights) Near Lewes, DE

The CT Tech is responsible for performing computerized axial tomography procedures in compliance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
They perform the following duties:
- Review consultation requests and check for special instructions before consulting with the Radiologist as needed. - Obtain the patient's medical history for correlation with the scan.
- Ensure that billing codes match the exam performed.
- Begin and end procedures and document all relevant paperwork.
- Follow through completely with urgent add-on requests.
- Greet patients pleasantly, confirm their identification and introduce themselves.
- Explain the examination procedure to the patient and their family if present.
- Provide radiation protection to patients, staff and themselves according to prescribed standards.
- Perform all routine CT Scan procedures according to established protocols.
- Evaluate the scan for technical quality and demonstrate the anatomy under investigation.
- Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all equipment located within the CT department and perform visual preventative safety inspections.
- Identify and communicate problems to their immediate supervisor.
- Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures and administer first aid or CPR as needed. - Complete necessary follow-up documentation such as contrast reaction forms, extravasation reports and Safety Tracking Tools.
- Assist radiologists with CT guided drainages and biopsies.
- Verify that the patient has consented to the procedure and understands the risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
- Be IV competent.
Qualifications
Education
: An Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field is required. Credentials:
The candidate must have ARRT-CT certification for Computed Tomography and BLS certification for Basic Life Saving.
Experience: One year of experience in CAT Scan is preferred.
Training: The candidate must complete Point of Care Testing training as part of the Department Orientation.
Skills: The candidate should have clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
They should be able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
They should be able to withstand crisis situations and provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
The candidate should also have knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records.
Certification Requirements:
ARRT and BLS certifications are required.
