WORK LOCATION: Chaska, MN
This is a fall 2024 co-op, beginning in June/July, ending in December.
Core Purpose:
The Test Engineer position will assist with maintaining and updating custom Windows based testers in production. Emphasis within this role will vary significantly based on the skills/interests of the candidate, but a broad ability for cross-disciplinary skills is critical, as is the ability/desire to diagnose and solve problems. The Invue division makes electronics for the semiconductor industry. A typical product is the NT6510.
In this role, you will:
•Support custom Manufacturing Execution Software application, database, and hardware platforms, mostly on premises.
•Review, improve, and document production processes and tests.
•Debug/troubleshoot issues, both on live production equipment and development machines.
•Triage and investigate multidisciplinary problems.
•Approach and involve the appropriate subject matter experts from other departments.
•Drive problems to resolution.
•Work with offsite, US based Lead SW Developer towards release of updated code platform.
•Create, document, and perform verification tests towards that release.
•Gain exposure to the electronics supply chain.

•Curiosity and grit to investigate and diagnose.
•Familiarity with basic test hardware (like multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
•Analytical/experimental problem-solving skills to understand hardware, software issues, and be able to quickly analyze and resolve system inter-operability problems.
•Familiarity with one or more structured programming languages: C#, Visual Studio suite, VB6, etc.
•Ability to find, read, and revise schematics
•Ability to solder and use various mechanical tools
•Familiarity with industrial communication technologies (like Serial, GPIB, etc.), relational databases (SQL, Access), NI TestStand and/or LabView, and EE design packages such as Altium
Desired Major & Graduation Date:
Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar. Graduating in Dec 2024-2026
Physical Requirements:
•Normal office/lab environments/expectations.
•Sit/stoop/stand/walk/etc.
•Ability to lift 50 lbs, read, maneuver, etc. Factory floor requires safety glasses and steel toes.
•Cleanroom adds smock, booties, hair net, and gloves.
•Work in cleanroom will be only intermittent, occasional frequency.

The successful candidate will end the rotation with an expanded set of skills and experience that in addition to providing real world experience, will enable both a wider set of future careers as well as increased quality within their chosen career path.
•A candidate who becomes a design/development engineer will gain an understanding of the needs of downstream users and increase the quality and quantity of their future documentation to better support their internal customers.
•A candidate would become more prepared for a career in field service, applications engineering, production engineering, and similar roles outside of the typical design career path.
•During the rotation, feedback will be provided on an ongoing basis by the mentor and other coworkers, plus regular one-on-one's.
•The candidate will have several opportunities to present to the larger team, including Operations Management.
•The candidate will have a direct impact on real production.
