This individual will be responsible for assisting with credentialing, operating room schedules and reconciliation of records. Employee will review records for compliance with Case Management System (CMS) and Office of Compliance guidelines. Will be responsible for daily records coding for charge entry, insurance information and will work directly with the billing office and other assigned personnel, including surgeons, acting as liaison for the billing and credentialing offices.
  • The University of Miami Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Surgery Service Representative.
  • The individual in this role assists with the maintenance of operating room schedules and reconciles schedules to records.
  • Reviews records to ensure compliance with the case management system and office guidelines.
  • Codes records with all necessary information for charge entry, daily.
  • Verifies insurance information and takes appropriate steps to obtain any missing information.
  • Maintains an organized record of charges by batching patient records by date of service.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
