Baylor Genetics is Hiring a Molecular Genetic Technologist I-III (NGS Capture) Near Houston, TX
SUMMARY: Conducts high complexity molecular tests in the treatment and diagnosis of genetic diseases DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs clinical testing in compliance with CAP, NY, CLIA regulations
Troubleshoots assay performance
Operates and maintains the laboratory equipment, maintains the lab following 5S standards
Performs QC and informs manager/supervisor immediately if systems deviate from the laboratory's established specification
Maintains laboratory stock levels and restocking supplies
Trains new employees as needed
Performs other duties as required
Adheres to the Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics' Compliance Program
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION:
Molecular Genetics Technologist I
Degree: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
Relevant experience: 0-2 years
Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
Molecular Genetics Technologist II
Degree: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
Relevant experience: 2-4 years
Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
OR
Degree: Master's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology
Relevant experience: 0-2 years
Certification (preferred): MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
