As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work with the team to develop scalable, robust, and high performing mail inserting and mail/parcel sorting solutions. This position is located in Danbury, Connecticut at our world headquartersCORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Include Budget, P&L, and People Management Responsibilities, as appropriate)Collaborate in our multidisciplinary teams of engineers to architect, design, document, implement, test, release and deploy systems on high-speed mail processing equipmentInterface with internal & external clients to translate high level application requirements into deployable solutionsInterface with OEM suppliers to identify and adapt various control system technologies for use on our systemsPlan and maintain project schedules, ensure solutions meet all requirements and are delivered within specified timeframes and budget allocationsSupport manufacturing and service personnel in complex troubleshooting. Some field support & travel requiredPeriodically manage and supervise aspects of electrical installations at client facilities, requiring domestic and international travelSupport other business unit requirements in maintaining products, requiring domestic travel and some international travelQUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS)MINIMUM:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Computer Engineering or other electrical engineering discipline, 5-10 years experience in electrical engineeringDemonstrates experience & knowledge in embedded controller design, embedded software (Assembly, Intel, C), Programmable logic (FPGA, Xilinx), Microcontrollers/DSP (TI, Renesas, Atmel),Demonstrates experience & knowledge of embedded Analog/Digital design practices, board level DC power design (DC/DC, AC/DC), Computer interfacing (PCIe, USB, Serial)Demonstrates experience & knowledge of embedded servo drive design and implementation, closed loop position control, specifically current controlDemonstrates experience & knowledge of harness and cabling design and system schematic layout in 2D CAD, able to specify connectors and properly size wiringProven troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve system interdisciplinary level problems, including mechanical and electrical issues under tight timeframesIs a superb communicator - with the ability to effectively liaise with different teams and external suppliers in a friendly and approachable mannerHas excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse and distributed product teams with a hands-on, get-the-job-done attitudePREFERRED:10-15 years experience in electrical engineeringFamiliarity with motion control techniques, with low level ethernet networking hardware, with high speed I/O design, with barcode, RFID, OCR scanning systems, optics and lensing for imaging system technologies a plusDemonstrates experience & knowledge of Orcad Schematic capture and board layout, as well as Mentor graphics capture and board layout a plusOEM Motor and drive specification, analysis, and ability to analyze servo motor characteristics using a dyno is a plusKnowledge of both international and domestic machine safety standards particularly EN60204, EN62368, and NFPA79 a plusMaster's Degree in Electrical Engineering will be considered but not required#J-18808-Ljbffr
