Machine Operator Job Description

Follow procedures to run machines according to specifications.
Start machines and set controls to regulate vacuum, air pressure and temperature, and to synchronize speed of production.
Alert tool room about worn molds when products vary from specifications.
Reel thermoformed products into specified lengths and weights.
Troubleshoot, maintain and make minor repairs to equipment.
Clean work areas.
Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Control operations of equipment or systems.
Evaluate processes to verify performance.
Determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it.
Measure and examine products to locate defects and to check for conformance to specifications, adjusting controls as necessary to alter products.
