Operates radiologic equipment at Baptist OrthoNow Urgent Ortho to obtain diagnostic images as well as, cross trained in rooming patients, entering patient information on an electronic health records system and assisting physicians with patients. Ensures that all aspects of patient records are processed properly to initiate procedure results in a timely manner.
Full time, part time and PRN positions available.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an A.M.A approved school of Radiologic Technology. Registered or registry eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Alabama.
Experience & Training Required: Successful completion of training to perform other radiology procedures.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: Ability to appropriately communicate with patients, physicians and other employees. Ability to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients and to apply and adjust restraining devices. Ability to utilize electronic medical records, radiology computer system such as, digital radiography and multiple PACS systems.
Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
Job Duties:
1. Performs radiology procedures as ordered by physicians and providers.
2. Uses equipment in compliance to all safety requirements.
3. Complies with all HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
4. Reports any patient complaints or concerns to the Clinical Supervisor.
5. Establishes and maintains effective communication with physicians, employees and other departments.
6. Responds to patient questions as required to resolve issues and maintain high patient satisfaction levels.
7. Maintains patient confidentiality.
8. Attends required department staff meetings.
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job position.
Certificate and or Associates Degree in Radiology Technology and current ARRT certification.
One - two-year experience as a Radiology Technologist in a hospital or clinic environment.
Current state and ARRT certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
