Job Description: Job Description Sign on bonus available About the Laboratory: The Laboratory at Baptist Health Louisville acts as the core laboratory for the Baptist Health system performing testing for both inpatients and outpatients. This fast-paced, busy automated Laboratory has the capacity to perform a full range of tests while maintaining a short turnaround time for our patients. The Laboratory Med Techs perform testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, and microbiology. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals who like a busy laboratory and an opportunity to learn and grow in the field. Newly graduated Med Tech Laboratory students are welcome to apply. Job Duties: The laboratory division performs testing for chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis. Position requires a strong attention to detail to ensure patient safety. The Med Tech uses manual and automated equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests. Technologists must have strong critical thinking to recognize problems that that require additional troubleshooting or analysis. Core Laboratory Med Techs may also be cross trained in other areas of laboratory. Knowledge, education, experience: Bachelor degree in in Medical Laboratory Sciences or an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent required. Must become certified within 6 months of hire. Previous work experience in high complexity testing preferred.
