Description

The Inventory Control Associate I (ICA I) is part of the company’s inventory control team and is primarily responsible for the physical verification of inventory via cycle counts, location audits, physical inventories and other similar activities. They will also assist with investigating, reconciling, and resolving inventory-related discrepancies, issues, and inquiries. They may participate in company meetings and provide recommendations on how to make inventory control responsibilities more efficient. The ICA I may also help with training and educating new and existing Team members to company inventory policies and procedures. Quality is the number one criteria for Banneker’s operation and all actions must be accomplished in the most quality conscious manner while also operating in the most safe and efficient manner possible. The incumbent must always be cognizant for damaged product, quantity discrepancies or any other noticeable deficiencies. Commitment to safety, quality, attention to detail, strong work ethic and a positive attitude are key components of this position.

Requirements

Essential duties & responsibilities related to this position function include, but are not limited, to the following:

OPERATIONAL

- Track and maintain accurate physical inventory (customer and company-owned) to align with system counts through cycle counts, location audits, physical inventories and other counting duties based on count schedules.

- Assist with identifying, resolving and reconciling inventory errors, discrepancies, and other problems; provide research for special requests.

- Perform and process inventory transfers and update records accordingly.

- Occasionally may serve as a point of contact for the customer’s inventory control personnel, assisting with their audits.

- Assist with generating reports and other related documents, including updating metrics and other data as requested.

- Ensure company and customer procedures are followed related to adjusting, quarantining, segregating, and moving inventory.

- Provide input to management to assist with updating and revising inventory control policies and procedures.

- Participate in inventory control process improvement initiatives as requested.

- May participate in internal meetings and providing status updates accordingly.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid non-CDL driver’s license or Government issued ID assigned by the state of current residence.

Able to work a flexible work schedule as needed including planned and unplanned schedules, which may include mandatory overtime and weekends.

Must be professional at all times.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or clear E-Verify and successfully pass a Background Check.

Team Members may be asked to secure a Government Security Clearance.

Must be willing to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in on-going random drug screen program (as applicable).

Must pass pre-employment tests, if applicable.

Must possess willingness, tolerance and endurance to work long or irregular hours during peak seasons, including weekends if necessary.

KNOWLEDGE

High school diploma or GED required or an equivalent combination of certification and one to three years’ working experience in a similar warehouse/manufacturing environment utilizing SAP/WMS Operating System

Working knowledge of inventory control practices; working knowledge of tools, supplies, equipment used in a warehouse environment.

Understanding of basic inventory and accounting practices (e.g. First in First out, Lot control, Expiration Dates)

Very high attention to detail with excellent math skills, mathematical conversions, ability to identify individual items and sub-items.

Ability to organize workload and records, to track inventory regularly and consistency to minimize discrepancy.

Proficient ability in developing process flows, writing processes and managing an administrative workload.

Word/Spreadsheet Processing Software: Microsoft Office Suite

Inventory Software: Synapse WMS or similar.

EXPERIENCE

At least one to three years’ working experience in a similar warehouse/manufacturing environment utilizing SAP/WMS Operating System

Experience with computerized RF scanning equipment is required.

Experience in ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems environment preferred.
