HDJ + Associates, Inc. is Hiring a Senior Staff Accountant Near Canonsburg, PA
Our client is looking to hire a Staff Accountant who will be responsible for supporting Financial and Operational Accounting including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, ad hoc analyses, and special projects, as assigned. This is a hybrid position with one day remote and four days in office.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller in the month-end closing process.
- Participate in providing deliverables in annual financial audit.
- Prepare journal entries with appropriate and transparent supporting documentation.
- Perform monthly analysis to ensure the completeness and accuracy of transactions.
- Assist in performing bank reconciliations in the PDI Cash Management module.
- Support the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations; Specifically:
- Execute reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Research reconciling items and establish a timely and appropriate resolution plan.
- Manage and reconcile accounts receivable credit card balances throughout the month.
- Ensure the timely depreciation/capitalization of fixed assets and construction in progress.
- Seek opportunities to create process improvements in daily and month-end processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting
- 2-4 years of accounting experience
- Must have either a CPA or experience at a public accounting firm
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Strong Excel and computer skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Analytical thinker with attention to detail.
