Garden Maintenance Lead

Hiring Multiple Candidates 

Seasonal Position, April- mid December
7am-4pm, schedule will flex during holidays and peak times, including occasional Saturdays

Bachman's is looking to add Lead Gardeners to their growing team. Lead Gardeners are subject matter experts on plant materials and the maintenance required for high end residential gardens. Leads will be on a team of 2-3 gardeners, providing work direction and project management.

• Monday- Friday with some Saturdays
• 7am-4:30pm

JOB DUTIES:

• Install annuals, perennials, landscape plants, and related landscape products. Perform garden maintenance at client properties as well as Bachman’s locations as directed
• Assist with seasonal container design and installation.
• Give work direction and assist in training the Garden Maintenance team.
• Work outdoors all day in all conditions during April through mid-December
• Work independently and with a team.
• Perform routine fleet vehicle maintenance.
• Promote efficiency and workplace safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attendance is an essential function of this position and we rely on all our employees to be at work during their scheduled shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has completed 3 or more seasons of annual and perennial planting and maintenance. Exception may be made for candidate with a combination of formal education (Horticulture or related Science) and experience.
• Demonstrates knowledge of garden maintenance, annual and perennial plantings, pruning shrubs and small trees, plant identification, and knowledge of chemical applications.
• Must have valid driver's license, be insurable by Bachman’s insurance provider and be able to drive in all weather conditions
• Must be able to acquire Health Card before start date.
• Must have Pesticide Applicators License or obtain license before start date.
• Must be able to work independently and with a team.
• Detail oriented and have strong time management skills.
• Must be able to give work direction to crew helpers as needed.
• Preference would be made to candidate with Horticulture education, certification or training. Such as MNLA Certification or Master Gardener.
