The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Site Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Houston, TX
Shifts: 1st shift
Hourly Rate: $23/hr.

What we're looking for
Education: High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Logistics/ chemical inventory management is desirable
Experience : 1-2 years of procurement, lab exposure, order management,/or business experience preferred.
Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred
Possess knowledge and familiarity with various chemicals used in the laboratory.
Maintain reliable transportation and hold a valid driver's license.
Ability to travel up to 20%, with the farthest location within 35 miles.
Capable of repetitively lifting weights ranging from 25 to 30 lbs.
How you will thrive and create an impact
Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Receive hazardous chemicals requested by global staff, including tasks such as identifying, renaming, and barcoding before inventory placement.
Utilize the inventory management system to dispense/deliver chemicals from containers to researchers or requesters.
Receive chemical orders from chemistry personnel, ensuring accuracy, registration into the inventory database, assignment to users, and return to the loading dock.
Enhance container descriptions during registration, including GHS hazard classifications, regulatory lists, concentration, mixture, etc.
Segregate incoming chemicals and those returned by scientists in the stockroom by hazard class, DOT requirements, etc.
Travel to additional sites approximately 20% of the time, with the furthest location within an hour's drive; requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Maintain inventory using customer systems and ensure accuracy by scanning all chemical inventory in stockrooms and labs.
