JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for setting up and aligning parts per blueprint in preparation for punching and for performing punching operations. Sets up and operates machine tools to cut, shape, or form metal to specifications.

The Press Break Operator will be part of our 2nd shift team that operates from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Monday through Thursday. Starting wage is $23.87 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform all job duties safely to conform to our safety program,

Confer with Foreman to determine job requirements, quantities, and workflow.

Figure notching requirements, material gain, and all other aspects of bending material on the brake with minimal questions about Standard Procedures and technique.

Program dimensions and adjust settings on the press brake machine.

Feed metal into the press brake machine; bend pieces per instructions.

Perform a bend test on the press brake machine if using non-standard material.

Bend metal in required sequence using the press brake machine.

Write size and I.D. on piece and stage related pieces together.

Perform ongoing housekeeping duties to keep work area clear of scrap and debris.

Ensure machines are in good operating condition.

Familiar with routine maintenance of the machines.

Employs proper safety requirements of operating the brake.

Give direction to helpers as needed to accomplish a job in an efficient manner.

Prevents on-the-job injuries by attending safety meetings, forklift training, wearing safety glasses, shields, steel-toed shoes, and harnesses, etc.; cleaning work area; and maintaining awareness of hazmat manuals, ISO Standards, and safety stations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

HS diploma or GED preferred.

1 to 2 years experience preferred
