Job Description
Summary:

The Reinsurance Analyst is responsible for the accuracy of risk reporting, coordinating and reconciling with insurance and reinsurance companies, as well as supporting the execution of day-to-day risk management activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly reinsurance accounting and reports
  • Research and prepare competitive intelligence, including assistance with setting target strategies
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly reporting to insurance and reinsurance companies
  • Create and reconcile the financial statements and cession statements of CFCs and NCFCs
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly reinsurance reporting to business partners
  • Build and maintain reinsurance reporting dashboards and ad hoc reporting
  • Proactive reporting and analysis to remain ahead of risk

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree: Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics required.
  • 3 years of experience
  • Knowledge of automotive F&I
  • Prior experience in reinsurance

Skill Level

  • Ability to lead by example, give constructive feedback, and offer support for direct reports
  • Strong knowledge of business functions and accounting
  • Ability and desire to learn new systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with above average math, analytical and reasoning ability.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to constantly prioritize a multitude of task under pressure.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Tableau, SQL: pivot tables, vertical/horizontal lookups, charts, and graphs
  • Keen attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type and look at a computer screen for long periods of the day. The employee must be able to sit for long periods of time.
