Instrument Fitter Helper

Assists Instrument Fitter in installing, removing various instrumentation such as indicators, recorders, telemetry, controllers, transmitters, transducers, and analyzers used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow and temperature.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carries tools and materials, cleans parts, and work area.
• Drills holes in masonry or structural steel for installation of instruments, using electric pneumatic tools.
• Cut, bend, and install tubing related to instrumentation.
• May steam trace lines.
• May assist in installing flanges and orifice plates.
• May assist in reparing steam traps.
• Works both indoors and outdoors, may include extreme hot or cold weather conditions
• Spends most of the word day standing on feet, requires stooping, bending, squatting.
• May require working in cramped and uncomfortable positions.
• May be required to climb about machinery, and climb ladders, scaffolds, and catwalks.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Education – no minimum education requirements.

Experience – 1-2 years of experience.
