Austin Industrial is a merit shop, employee-owned company and has been a provider of construction, maintenance, plant services, turnaround and specialty services to the oil, gas and chemical, energy (power and ethanol), and manufacturing industries for more than 60 years.

We are currently seeking a Site Safety Supervisor to perform, support, assist and conduct activities of the site safety department. This will include, but not limited to, all activities of the corporate, client and site safety and health programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

* 3- 5 years' experience in a safety related field or combination of education and time.

* Familiar with computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Outlook, Word, PPT, and Excel).

EDUCATION

* OSHA 10 - 30 hour courses or equivalent.

* Safety Certs from COSS, CSST, OHST, CHST, ASP, or CSP,

* Safety courses - technical level or currently enrolled, 2 year A.A.S. would be a plus.

* Basic First Aid / CPR, certified as an ECA, EMTP, RN a plus.

* Membership in professional organization would be a plus, i.e. ASSE, AIHA, WSO, etc.

* Demonstrate good analytical decision making during problem solving.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Capable of performing the expectations of a safety technician.

* Manage and treat First Aid incidents.

* Develop and present safety meetings and training.

* Professional interface with clients, management, supervisors and employees.

* Interpret and disseminate standards, company policy/procedures, and client policy/ procedures. Have general knowledge and understanding of the OSHA standards.

* Properly enforce policy and procedures.

* Communicate and document auditing both formal and informal.

* Recommend corrective actions as needed.

* Maintain cooperative working relationship at all levels.

* Perform all duties with minimal supervision.

* Maintain flexibility and work with changing priorities as needed.

* Provide notification of anticipated absences.

* Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance appropriate for the position.

DUTIES AND TASKS

* Maintain company's OSHA log.

* Periodic job visitation and auditing.

* Maintain record review and retention.

* Maintain company safety and health programs.

* Create monthly site safety overview report as needed.

* Perform administrative tasks.

* Perform inspections.

* Establish treatment centers at project locations in case of medical needs.

* Create and conduct periodical training programs as needed.

* Perform accident investigations.

* Perform drug testing.

* Review incoming safety correspondence and act accordingly.

* Review new MSDS's.

* Provide on-going support for project safety related needed.

* Ensure all reporting is performed in a timely manner.

* Maintain achievable goals, both long and short term.

* Safety and health programs are current and comply with current requirements.

* Promote safety as a fundamental in every job.
