About This Role:

Job Overview

Achieving The Dream is seeking a Marketing and Sales Intern. This intern will be an integral part of two teams, the Marketing & Communications team and the Services Management team, contributing to various projects aimed at enhancing ATD’s marketing and sales strategies. The intern will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, enjoys interacting with a diverse range of colleagues and audiences, is a strong writer and communicator, and is working toward a degree in communications, digital media, or a related field.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze Email Campaigns: Evaluate the effectiveness of email campaigns across different events, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Sales and Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with both the sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities for synergy.
  • Develop Staff Toolkit: Assist in the creation and design of a comprehensive toolkit for sales and marketing staff, including resources, tips, and talking points to improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Explore Online Advertising Options: Research and investigate various online advertising platforms, with a focus on LinkedIn, to identify new opportunities for reaching our target audience.
  • Social Media Strategy: Utilize past stories to develop social assets aimed at elevating our organization's presence and engaging our audience. May involve design of graphics.
  • Website Optimization: Work with the team to improve the search functionality on our website by tagging priority pages to enhance user experience and discoverability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Marketing and Communication Strategy: Gain practical experience in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Develop skills in analyzing marketing campaign performance data to derive actionable insights and make informed decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Learn how to effectively collaborate with different departments, such as sales and marketing, to achieve common objectives and foster a culture of teamwork.
  • Content Development: Enhance content creation skills by crafting compelling narratives and messages for various channels, including email campaigns, social media, and website content.
  • Digital Marketing Knowledge: Acquire knowledge of different online advertising platforms and strategies, with a focus on LinkedIn and social media marketing.
  • Website Optimization Techniques: Learn website optimization techniques, including SEO strategies and tagging practices, to improve search visibility and user experience.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Familiarity with and interest in digital media, marketing, sales, and/or written communications.
  • Candidate should be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Sales, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with experience editing written work. Please provide 1-3 representative samples of your writing (no more than 10 pages total) along with your application.
  • Social media experience and basic graphic design skills using platforms such as Canva or Adobe.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • This is a virtual position. A strong candidate will be self-directed, with strong collaborative and communication skills, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines.
