Description

The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the AP Americas accounting team, helping to establish strong controls around our month-end closing process; including performing account reconciliations for various accounts within different entities related to operating expenses, capital expenditures, intercompany, accounts receivables, and payroll. As part of the accounting team, you will regularly engage with different corporate and retail teams.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, he/she will manage the closing procedures by preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports including P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow, monitoring of business process operations, supporting tax requirements and assists with audit preparations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform general accounting functions for assigned entities; general ledger system, preparing and posting journal entries, performing account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly cash-flow forecasting
• Ensuring timely reporting of all monthly closing related financial information (trial balance, bank reconciliations, audit schedules, financial statements and analysis)
• Investigate account variances and provide concise explanations to support the monthly close and review process
• Provide support for the internal/ external audit process with specific focus on collecting key financial, accounting and inventory control data
• Assist in improving, developing and documenting accounting policies and procedures to streamline tasks
• Assess internal controls, including risk assessment and reviews of risk areas 
• Support retail manual maintenance and enforcement processes (fraud prevention, internal controls, filing & reporting and inventory)
• Support operational accounting functions (AR/AP) on an as-needed basis
• Prepare departmental reports and ad hoc analysis as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus
• 5-7 years’ experience in a general accounting position; luxury retail and/or hospitality experience preferred
• Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong working knowledge with a major ERP system
• Strong mathematical skills required
• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines; able to multitask
• Skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple projects, taking initiative, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Highly organized and detail-oriented analytical skills
