Cook - Nutrition Services St. John's Hospital Camarillo
As A Cook at St. John's Hospital Camarillo. You will prepare, season and cook meals for our hospital patients, employees, physicians, and visitors.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and cooks all items needed for patient tray line cafeteria and catering events.
  • Prepares meals that are of good quality: seasoned properly proper doneness temperature consistency on time and presented attractively.
  • Accurately prepares meals using proper techniques; confers with dietary personnel as necessary.
  • Follows appropriate recipes as provided.
  • Properly wraps dates and stores food.
  • Uses proper body mechanics when handling food and kitchen equipment.
  • Properly uses a thermometer for cooking and storing of foods.
  • Follows modified diets for special patient care.
  • Responsible for cooking to diet office tallies and forecasts.
  • Responsible for keeping work area neat clean and organized.
  • Responsible for rotation of foods in Cooks boxes.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or GED
  • A minimum of two years recent experience as a cook or assistant cook.
  • Prior food service experience preferred.
  • Graduate of a culinary course/school preferred.
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

This position is covered by SEIU-UHW and subject to terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
