Cape Aegis, LLC in support of Arrow Alliance Industries is seeking IT Site Team Leads to perform network infrastructure installation and setup as well as management of teams performing network infrastructure installation and setup of upgraded network equipment to improve the IT infrastructure for the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) on BIE school campuses in the West. The job duties include but are not limited to site survey assessments, new installation, relocation, removal, and testing of computer networking equipment, setup and configuration of network gear (CISCO, and cabling (copper and fiber) infrastructure at various locations. Frequent Travel is required to the campuses.

Location

This is a remote position with travel. It is preferred that since travel is mostly in the Southwest United States, the candidate live in the southwestern part of the country.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the onsite Team Lead for the upgrade of on-campus computer and network infrastructure onsite at remote locations throughout the west. Perform physical installation, wiring, setup, and configuration of CISCO networking equipment as necessary.
  • Schedule and manage team deployments, documentation, equipment deployments, and other related tasks in ensuring the onsite job is completed.
  • Manage network installations including but not limited to Low Voltage twisted -pair copper cabling, fiber-optic cabling, and associated infrastructure.
  • Install, setup, configure, remove, terminate, test, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain IT and network infrastructure including but not limited to: CISCO network equipment including switches, routers, and wireless access points (inside and outside) as well as infrastructure including twisted-pair copper cabling; fiber-optic cabling; audio-visual cabling such as display-port and/or HDMI; COAX; multipurpose low voltage cabling and infrastructure; cabinets, racks and shelves; telephony blocks; patch panels; grounding bus bars and circuits; conduit, cable trays, and raceways.
  • Install IT networking equipment and devices as required to industry standards.
  • Perform mild construction as necessary to facilitate installation of network infrastructure.
  • Provide recommendations on cabling and network upgrades needed to bring sites up to current industry standards.
  • Perform patching and cross-connect actions as assigned.
  • Receive and obtain materials, transport, and deliver materials to work locations, and return unused materials to storage locations as required.
  • Evaluate, interpret, and deliver as required by task: pre-implementation drawings; redline drawings; as-built drawings; network diagrams; block diagrams; connectivity diagrams.
  • Work independently and with others and serves as a team member or lead to accomplish tasks.
  • Perform inspections for campus systems including but not limited to cable plant, infrastructure, and network distribution systems.
  • Deliver inspection reports as required including, but not limited to discrepancy reports and remediation criteria; status reports; test results; punch lists; redline drawings.
  • Perform site survey assessments and gather required data in approved written format (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as assigned by task.
  • Deliver Status Reports daily and trip reports as trips are completed.
  • Complete applicable BIE security and safety training and obtains relevant certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Past experience managing teams installing and setting up networking equipment including technical expertise with CISCO network equipment as well as network cabling/racking, mild construction, equipment ordering/deployment, scheduling, and P/L (profit/loss). Able to work in environments of mixed contractors, employees, government staff, etc.
  • Past experience installing and setting up networking equipment.
  • Must be able to write English effectively, using correct spelling and grammar, to generate reports and documentation (e.g., status, trip, and deficiency reports), as noted in PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES.
  • Experience documenting tasks using MS Word, Excel, Project, and related software.
  • Prefer CCNA, Network , and/or Security certification.
  • Strong communications skills in dealing with leadership, other contractors, government, onsite customers, and staff.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.

Work Environment:

  • Work Locations include but are not limited to cable vaults, ladders, scissor lifts, building entrance facility, telecommunication facility, telecommunication rooms/closets, central office, administrative office locations, warehouses, outdoor storage areas.
  • Work conditions include but are not limited to seasonal conditions typical for work areas located outdoors and indoors with non-climate-controlled facilities, dampness, adverse lighting conditions.
  • 100% travel required.
  • Work at sites requires frequent travel.
  • Personal Protective Equipment is required to be used.
  • A work vehicle is used to get to/from work sites and any local travel within the assigned geography for each location.

Security Clearance Requirement:

Background investigations for public trust positions are conducted to gather information to determine whether applicants are reliable, trustworthy, of good conduct and character, and loyal to the U.S. The information that provided on the Questionnaire for Public Trust Positions (SF-85P) and the Declaration for Federal Employment (OF 306) may be confirmed during the investigation. The investigation may extend beyond the time covered by this form, when necessary to resolve issues. The applicant's current employer may be contacted as part of the investigation, although the applicant may have previously indicated on applications or other forms that the applicant did not want the current employer to be contacted. If the applicant has a security freeze on their consumer or credit report file, then the agency may not be able to complete the investigation, which can adversely affect the applicant's eligibility for a public trust position or the ability to obtain Federal or contract employment. To avoid such delays, the applicant must request that the consumer reporting agencies lift the freeze in these instances.

In addition to the questions on the SF-85P, inquiry also is made about the applicant's adherence to security requirements, the applicant honesty and integrity, falsification, misrepresentation, and any other behavior, activities, or associations that tend to demonstrate a person is not reliable, trustworthy, or loyal.

After a suitability /fitness determination is made, the applicant may also be subject to continuous vetting which may include periodic reinvestigations to ensure the employee is continuing suitability for employment.
