We are Atlanta Fibroid Center , a world-renowned Interventional Radiology medical practice that specializes in the non-surgical treatment of uterine fibroids.

Our practice is recognized as an international leader in treating uterine fibroids using uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) procedures. We provide our patients with a first-rate clinical experience with a team that includes Physicians, Registered Nurses, Lab Techs, and Medical Assistants. The team works together to prepare patients for uterine fibroid embolization and provide direct care while they recover in our dedicated procedure suite. Our patients are discharged on the same day as their procedure.

We seek an experienced Head Nurse/  Manager to lead our clinical group of 5-7 Nurses, Radiology Techs, and Medical Assistants.

This is a position that blends nursing skills with managerial skills, so it requires an RN who is comfortable with directly providing a wide range of nursing skills, along with training others to use these skills and supervising their work on a daily basis. For the right person, this position offers a unique opportunity to practice nursing and manage nursing operations in a moderately-sized practice. To be clear, this is a position for a working manager who can lead and work simultaneously. Experience in a Cath Lab setting and administering conscious sedation is preferable but not required.

Primary functions include:

  • Conducting individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the collection of data based on individual needs and conditions.
    Starting an IV quickly and efficiently.
  • Performing conscious sedation of patients before their procedures according to established standards. This is a key function in our practice .
  • Demonstrate strong individual nursing skills .
  • Conducting ongoing nursing assessments as dictated by the patient’s condition and in accordance with client facility’s protocols.
  • Collaborating with other team members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of an individualized plan of care.
    Performing appropriate treatments and therapies as ordered by physicians in an appropriate and timely fashion.
  • Providing individualized patient and family teaching.
  • Documenting patient assessments, findings, and psychosocial responses to nursing interventions.
  • Initiating emergency measures according to adult and patient resuscitation protocols.
  • Maintaining confidentiality related to patients, families, client facilities, and staff in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Providing patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that ensures cultural diversity, age-appropriateness, patient rights, and dignity are observed.
  • Reporting patient condition to the medical director and the patient's physician, as needed based on an individualized patient assessment.
  • Maintaining competency by participating in continuing education programs and meeting state-specific requirements.
  • Complying with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards of nursing practice as set forth by the American Nurses Association or equivalent national organization.
  • Demonstrating the ability to delegate effectivel y and appropriately .
  • Developing performance standards and procedures, in conjunction with the medical director and patient physicians, to ensure a high level of patient care and safety.
  • Counsel and direct members of the clinical staff to develop a smoothly-running team consistent with company standards.
  • Showing a calm and soothing bedside manner, a positive attitude, and a ready ability to smile, with a servant's heart for patient care.
  • Participating in managerial meetings, representing your department and its needs.
  • Managing the Clinical Department with grace, foresight, and empathy, meeting established standards of conduct while controlling costs
  • Hiring and training new staff to be effective clinical providers.

Job Requirements:

  • Hold a current Georgia Registered Nurse/RN License.
  • BSN degree is preferred but not required.
  • Maintain RN certification and licensure as required by the State of Georgia.
  • Hold current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications from either an accredited instructor from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
  • Possess substantial work experience as a Registered Nurse, providing patient care in a hospital, including at least 1 year of critical care experience (ICU, CCU, or ER).
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Provide knowledge and experience with modern office procedures, equipment, and medical terminology.
  • Possess experience with practice management and EMR software, with a willingness to learn new software as required.
  • Practice accurate and efficient data entry and understand patient quality programs.
  • Demonstrate the tact to deal effectively with patients, physicians, and other employees in a thoughtful and courteous manner.
  • Create a team environment in the clinical group and in the practice in general.
  • Perform tasks in a very positive, empathetic, and kind manner, ensuring that each patient is treated with the highest degree of compassion and professionalism. Maintain strict patient confidentiality.

Atlanta Fibroid Center operates Monday through Friday with paid holidays. There is no requirement to work night shifts, weekends, or holidays.
