CSUSM offers B.S., Prep and M.S. programs in Speech-Language Pathology and values applied learning experiences to foster growth of academic knowledge, clinical skills and professional dispositions. The department is seeking someone with expertise in the area of early intervention, clinical phonetics and speech sound disorders. The program seeks to provide a supportive, inclusive environment for all student, faculty, staff and client populations. The Department of Speech-Language Pathology runs the CSUSM Speech-Language Clinic which is free to our community. CSUSM is a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and has been recognized nationally as an institution friendly to military veteran students and to junior faculty. Recently, CSUSM was ranked first nationally in CollegeNET's Social Mobility Index (SMI). The campus is located on a scenic hillside 15 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and in the San Diego North County region, an area known for its temperate climate and growing technology industries.
CSUSM is searching for a Visiting Faculty member for a one-year full time position. The successful candidate may teach courses in any of our three programs (BS, Prep and/or MS in SLP) and in multiple modalities (live and/or hybrid) and will receive mentorship in strategies to enhance student success and learning outcomes. The successful candidate will mentor students and contribute to activities serving the Department, College, University, and external community.
Minimum qualifications:

• A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communicative Sciences and Disorders
• Holds or is eligible for CA SLP state license
• Holds the ASHA CCC in SLP with practice experience in the areas of early intervention, clinical phonetics and/or speech sound disorders
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community that serves the students of the region.

Preferred qualifications:

• A doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology/Communicative Sciences and Disorders
• Experience teaching and or supervising students at the university level
• Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching, research and/or service.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience

• Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,083 - $6,786 per full-time month

Visiting Faculty appointments are full-time appointments for up to one (1) academic year. Individuals appointed into this classification are not eligible for a subsequent appointment in the Visiting Faculty classification but are eligible to apply for other Faculty positions at CSUSM.
