At Home is Hiring a Sr Director, Continuous Improvement Near Coppell, TX

The Senior Director of Continuous Improvement is a process and team leader responsible for overseeing the development of current business capabilities and enabling the pathway for successful deployment of new processes and systems within Supply Chain and Stores. The role will require overseeing both current and future business processes, identifying opportunities through analytics and improving efficiencies and productivity, improving quality and reducing cost to serve across the organization. This position requires extensive collaboration across the organization while being focused on driving initiatives to completion. This position requires extensive hands-on experience and business acumen in the development of large-scale Business and Systems processes that promote the growth of the company and assures the scalability for a fast-growing company. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement/industrial engineering strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies, analyze root causes, and develop actionable plans for improvement 
  • Manage, lead, and guide store dashboards, key metric reporting, store analytics and insights tied to store sales, store profitability, team member experience and customer experience to drive continuous improvements, consistent results across stores and lift up underperforming stores
  • Align multiple cross functional teams including colleagues, stake-holders, external partners, and senior management to prioritize improvement projects based on their impact on business objectives and resource availability
  • Lead Industrial Engineering activities to include initiating, validating and maintaining time-studied standards
  • Provide strategic direction to At Home’s senior leadership and implement, with areas of focus around optimization, labor utilization, ergonomics, automation, digitalization, & e-commerce 
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of P&L and operating performance metrics 
  • Ensure that improvement initiatives are sustainable by implementing robust systems for monitoring and maintaining performance gains
  • Serve as a change agent, support training, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages experimentation and continuous learning
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate documentation of business processes and suggestions required to improve process efficiencies
  • Cross functional collaboration to ensure all programs are implemented and have metrics to measure success
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and track progress over time
  • Communicate progress, successes, and challenges related to continuous improvement efforts to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Build and develop a team to drive initiatives to support the network and company strategy 

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related fields
  • 7 years Managerial (team leadership) experience
  • Proven track record of leading successful projects and continuous improvement initiatives in a complex organizational environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive change
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, coach and motivate individual/team performance
  • Experience working cross-functionally and building relationships at all levels of an organization to drive meaningful change results
  • Solid understanding of process optimization techniques, tools, and methodologies
  • Certification in lean Six Sigma or other relevant continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present complex ideas and data to diverse audiences
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to achieve team goals and complete assignments within established deadlines 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
