Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Division Army Chief located in Huntsville, AL. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Contracts and Compliance, Chief Compliance Officer, will assist the SVP as directed for the growth of the company.

LOCATION: Huntsville, AL

JOB STATUS: Full-Time

TRAVEL: 25%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • SECURITY CLEARANCE: None Required | U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants
  • EDUCATION: A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or equivalent and 15-20 year's experience in support of DoD and/or Industry in a position working directly with DoD and other customers such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Kennedy Space Center in an commensurate leadership position.
  • CERTIFICATIONS: Allowable as equivalents to substitution for education
  • EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Mid-Level 15 years or more

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsibilities include and are not limited to pre-award and post award functions involving highly specialized procurements of significant importance to the company and guiding any direct contracts persons assigned in procurement policies and procedures when needed, which typically involve different DoD and non DoD agencies to include insuring all types of reporting to audit agencies such as DCMA, DCAA and GSA.
  • ?This will require seamless consultation with other Division Chiefs, Vice Presidents, and General Managers within the corporate business environment, Business Development, Accounting and Finance and Human Resources to ensure compliance.
    • Depending on the audits it will require working with the Contracts team to develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance that would be coordinated with each appropriate support division to include any ELT organized teams such as Governance and Purchasing Procedures.
    • All policies and procedures will require coordination/approval of the SVP and the possibility of briefing the Executive Management Team (ET).
  • Serves as advisor and assistant to the SVP. Writes determinations and findings and will brief issues to Sr Leadership for and in the absence of the SVP.
    • The position will require multiple administrative functions on behalf of the SVP.
    • Reviews and helps negotiates (when necessary), modifications to clarify topics as specification changes, language ambiguities, Economic Price Adjustment (ECA) within the changes clause, or clarification of all contract clauses our unique provisions such as OCONUS requirements.
    • Primary responsibility is to be the Quality Inspection for the Division to develop a strategic compliance requirements checklist to address and ensure the your Contracts Division is effectively maintaining and reporting on all Contract Compliance issues for the Division to/as.
