SUMMARY

Banyan Medical Solutions is looking for professionals in the healthcare field who can learn the Banyan products and provide virtual care services to the Managed Services Clients. The Clinical Educator assumes a pivotal role in advancing professional practice and facilitating the delivery of high-quality patient care through the implementation of evidence-based educational programs and activities. These initiatives are strategically crafted to enhance the professional competency of nursing and interprofessional clinical staff. A key focus lies in providing meaningful coaching and mentoring to individuals and teams, aiming to elevate capabilities and contribute to an enhanced patient experience and heightened employee engagement.

The establishment of robust connections with client educators is of paramount importance, ensuring that our employees remain current on all client education requirements and competencies. Collaborating both internally and externally with various departments is imperative to guarantee that Banyan maintains a highly skilled staff, educated and compliant with client, state, and Banyan regulations and policies. This unwavering commitment is essential for consistently delivering exceptional patient care to our clients.

The Clinical Educator Registered Nurse is specifically tasked with the ongoing responsibility of sustaining clinical workflow knowledge and skills across all client sites. In their educator role, they shoulder the responsibility of maintaining clinical proficiency to effectively train new team members, endorse client competencies, and actively collaborate on clinical workflow processes. This multifaceted role extends to training staff, establishing competency criteria, and rigorously validating staff performance against these competencies. Through this comprehensive approach, Banyan ensures the maintenance of a workforce that is not only well-educated but also aligned with client, state, and Banyan standards, thereby consistently providing excellent patient care.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curricula related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
  • Collaborates with clients, managers, and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of clinical staff.
  • Participates in the development, coordination, delivery, and tracking of new clinical staff orientation, new/annual competency validation, and all other education activities to support Sync and our client education requirements.
  • Serves as a consultant/mentor for clinical staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
  • Create educational systems, content, and required reporting needs for compliance.
  • Develop the feedback loops required to continually refine these systems and content to ensure that they can scale to the education of hundreds of people and remain in compliance with client education requirements.
  • Mentor and coach, our team of medical professionals to ensure they can navigate the key nuances of medical conversations to create consistently high-quality data assets.
  • Liaise with the Banyan product, design, engineering, teams to translate clinical insight into product improvements that delight our clinician users.
  • Liaise and build relationships with our client educators and team to ensure our employees remain in compliance with all client requirements.
  • Support client implementations to ensure our employees are ready to go live designated by go live date from project management team.
  • Support account management and clinical applications with client training on our Banyan products as needed.
  • Support management team with various projects and other duties as assigned.

Assessment/Care Coordination/Discharge Planning - Acute Care Services and Progressive/Critical Care Services

  • Reviews initial hospital admission and gathers additional medical, psychosocial, and financial data from needs assessment, client/family, physicians, and other health care providers.
  • Collaborates with physicians to facilitate timely resolution of situations such as client concerns, need for referrals and discharge barriers to expedite the discharge plan.
  • Effectively deals with resistance and conflict in working with member of the patient care team, physicians, clients, and families.
  • Mobilizes resources to effect rapid and timely movement of the patient through the system to achieve targeted discharge times established by organizational policy and procedure.

Department Operations and Professional Development

  • Actively participates in department meetings and operations, including process development or improvement (e.g., department orientation, internal mentor/training programs and initiates, disease and population management strategies, appropriate measures for evaluation of outcomes) and establishment of department goals, objectives.
  • Ensures all applicable department and regulatory targets for productivity and department performance process improvement are attained (e.g., hospital length of stay, average cost per discharge, and re-admission rates, HCAHPS, etc.).
  • Complies with all reporting requirements for mandated, risk management, and other medical/legal situations consistent with confidentiality policies and department standards.
  • Actively contributes to the development and maintenance of a care delivery system which is sensitive to individual patient needs, promotes effective resource utilization, while emphasizing coordination across the continuum.
  • Positively contributes to team's decision-making process, effectively collaborates with other team members on interdependent tasks, and actively supports implementation of plans to accomplish team objectives.
  • Adheres to department and facility policies and procedures and supports philosophies and initiatives.
  • Maintains accurate, current, and legible patient records using approved forms and format, according to department and entity standards, including patient assessments, plans, interventions, patient/family involvement, outside agency communications, and interdisciplinary contacts. QUALIFICATIONS for CLINICAL EDUCATOR

Education

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Masters preferred.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a clinical educator or in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering effective clinical education programs.
  • Three (3) or more years of RN experience in an acute patient care setting in medical/surgical Emergency Department or critical care preferred.
  • Experience working efficiently with multiple computer applications in a fast-paced work setting.
  • Experience demonstrating leadership skills and inter-disciplinary collaboration preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association required.

Regulatory Knowledge

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and accreditation processes.
  • Knowledge of continuing education requirements and the ability to ensure compliance with industry guidelines.

Work Environment

  • Hours of work: Monday-Friday- Full-Time Exempt, available as needed for Banyan/client/staff/leadership meetings/projects. Hours will fluctuate based on need.
  • Travel: This position will require occasional travel.
  • Location: Onsite is preferred
