Description
If you have experience working with groups of preschool children ages 3-5 and have a passion for teaching, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has an amazing role for you as a Recreation Preschool Lead Teacher . This is a year-round role at Discovery Park Environmental Learning Center
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Recreation Preschool Lead Teacher will be responsible for engaging participants and leading activities for preschool participants between the ages of 3 and 5. The Recreation Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, fun, inclusive environment welcoming to all.
Location: Discovery Park Environmental Learning Center
Recreation Preschool Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the pre-planned lesson plans/calendar activities at the Licensed Childcare Center program for children ages 3-5.
  • Models appropriate behavior and provides opportunities for social and emotional growth
  • Communicates with team members, families, community center staff as needed
  • Reports to the Associated Recreation Council Preschool Director
Recreation Preschool Lead Teacher Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least two years of experience working with children in a group setting between the ages of 3-5 years old in a preschool setting
Schedule:
  • School-year: Monday - Friday up to 25 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am - 2:00pm
  • Hiring by Date: As soon as possible
Pay:
  • $23-26 hourly, non-exempt; part-time position
