Summary
The Materials Manager is primarily responsible for oversight of the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics with proven success in continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Develop and implement materials management strategies, business processes and KPI's to optimize inventory levels, minimize costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials and information in conjunction with ISO QMS standards.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality control, to determine material requirements and specifications.
•Establish Supplier Quality Manual policies for onboarding and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing to ensure the best value for the organization as well as monitoring supplier performance.
•Monitor and analyze inventory levels, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement and ensuring accuracy of inventory systems.
•Implement and maintain inventory control systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
•Oversee the warehouse; receiving, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
•Develop and manage budgets for materials procurement and inventory control identifying opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
•Ensure shipping/receiving compliance with regulatory agencies.
Support as needed department internal and external related audits any follow-on corrective actions that may arise.
•Continuously evaluate and improve materials management processes and procedures.
•Ensure the success of materials management team, including training and development.
•Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
•Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or a related role
•Certified Supply Chain Certifications a plus
Required Skills/Abilities
•Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
•Excellent negotiation and communication skills
•Proficiency in inventory management software, Macola, and Microsoft Office Suite
•Strong understanding of export & import compliance, Rohs & Reach Compliance & DFARs
•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
•Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•Excellent organizational and time management skills
•Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of diverse individuals.
•Required to stand, walk, sit, and type with hands and arms. Required to climb stairs.
•Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
