WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Construction Management and Inspection team. We currently have open positions for construction inspectors with 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in the construction or rehabilitation of roadways, bridges, tunnels, and facilities. The ideal candidate should be equipped with practical construction field knowledge and be proficient with e-Construction applications. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Construction Inspector, your role is essential to ensure the quality and compliance of construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting thorough inspections of construction sites, including roadways, bridges, tunnels, and facilities, to verify adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Documenting and reporting any deviations, defects, or issues discovered during inspections.
  • Collaborating with senior inspectors and project managers to confirm that construction activities meet safety regulations and project requirements.
  • Assisting with the review and interpretation of construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate inspection records and reports for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Learning and applying industry-specific software and tools for inspection and documentation.
  • Participating in team meetings and safety briefings to foster a safe, collaborative work environment.
  • Communicating effectively with contractors, project stakeholders, and other team members to address construction-related concerns and provide guidance.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
  • A current and valid driver's license
  • A high school diploma or a high school equivalent certification
  • The ability to obtain the appropriate certification within the Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP), such as Asphalt Field Technician, Concrete Field Technician, Soils & Aggregate Compaction Technician, or Pavement Marking Technician, based on the specific project assignment,
  • The ability to possess the Maryland Department of the Environment's Responsible Person Certification (formerly "Green Card") (to be obtained within one year)
  • The ability to complete the MDOT SHA Traffic Manager's (TMA) Training within one year
  • Proficiency with eConstruction applications, such as Fulcrum, is essential for this role
  • Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, walking over rough and uneven terrain, standing for up to 12 hours a day on occasion, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting, using hands to grasp, reaching, raising hands above the head, sitting, climbing, and balancing
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains is necessary
  • Proficiency in math and English
