Description
Ascend partners with Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, Georgia's largest Community Service Board (CSB), to staff clinical and non-clinical jobs in behavioral health. Being part of our team and working in a CSB means you're helping individuals and families otherwise unable to access treatment from private providers to address healthcare challenges associated with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases. The ITR Direct Service Professional performs direct care services to promote, encourage, and ensure efficient operation of the ITR program, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of program participants. Seeking to contribute to the success of the ITR program, as well as the agency as a whole, the Direct Service Professional successfully carries out daily tasks including assisting with daily living activities, monitoring of program participants' progress, and facilitation of life skills groups, through acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with daily living activities, monitoring, and providing support to individuals residing in a 24/7 residential non-gender-specific Licensed Personal Care home through the Office of Healthcare Facilities. This facility ensures the safety and wellbeing of individuals, with respect to appropriate boundaries.
- Prepares and maintains records of individuals' progress and services delivered, reporting changes in condition to manager or supervisor.
- Facilitates life skills groups, including education on personal hygiene, nutrition, money management, and interpersonal skills.
- Provides structured activities that promote socialization, recovery, wellness, self-advocacy, development of natural supports, and maintenance of community living skills.
- Monitors urine screen analysis (if needed) and self-administration of medication in accordance with agency policies and procedures, to encourage accountability.
- Provides transportation for individuals to appointments and activities in the community.
- Ensures and provides high quality, compassionate, and ethical delivery of services to improve program and organizational performance.
- Assists with service-related compliance.
- Intervenes, stabilizes and manages acute crisis situations as needed.
- Assist in providing additional coverage during increased census/acuity and emergencies.
- Maintains confidentiality for all indirect/direct service in accordance with agency policies and HIPPA policies.
- Knowledge of necessary appropriate therapeutic boundaries for working with vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of addictive diseases and/or mental health disorders and their impact on an individual's functioning.

Requirements
High School Diploma/GED required
Minimum one (1) year providing direct care to individuals in human services while documenting electronically
Preferred - Two (2) years of experience with addictive diseases and/or mental health preferred.
Must be able to pass an intensive criminal background investigation
Pre-Employment and random drug screening
