Our client has a brand new opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join their team onsite in Chicago, IL and provide unparalleled technical support for IT and data problem tasks. This Technician will travel within a radius of 25 to 100 miles daily, depending on the area and specific route, and is required to have a valid driver’s license.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Proficient in AC / DC and backup power concepts

• Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve client issues with IT equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations

• Install desktop printers and maintain the POS system to ensure smooth operation

• Document efforts, issues and resolutions, close cases / tickets daily to maintain accurate records

• Manage cabling and various terminating connectors to ensure reliable network connectivity

• Maintain and troubleshoot POS, PC, printers, thin clients, Client, servers, and network switch equipment 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of technical support experience

• Familiar with various operating systems (e.g., Windows OS, OSX, Linux / Unix)

• Insight to POS, PC, Printers, Thin Clients, Servers, and Network switch equipment

• Exceptional customer service skills and effectively communicating with clients and addressing their IT-related concerns

• Attention to detail and problem solving skills

• Excellent time management and reporting skills
