The People Concern is urgently hiring Support Specialists for our facilities in the LAX and West Adams area of Los Angeles!

Positions are full-time and are eligible for the following benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 403(b) Retirement plan

Main responsibilities include:

- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide support to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance addiction, at both locations.

- Develop effective, trusting relationships with clients using a client-centered approach that includes motivational interviewing, harm reduction and Trauma Informed care

- Ensure a clean and safe facility by doing facility walk-throughs and report repair needs.

- Participate in periodic safety drills for staff and clients (fire, earthquake etc).

- De-escalate crisis situations in a trauma-informed manner.

Preferred qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.

- Punctuality required.

- Possess effective customer service skills even during complex situations.

Available positions and shifts:

- Support Specialist, Friday - Tuesday (3:00pm-11:30pm)

- Support Specialist, Saturday - Wednesday (7:00am-3:30pm)

- Support Specialist, Tuesday - Saturday (11:00pm-7:30am)

- Support Specialist, Wednesday - Sunday (11:00pm-7:30am)
