The **Diet Aide/Dishwasher** requires a friendly, outgoing person with the ability to communicate effectively while working in a professional manner. This position demands an employee with an understanding of HACCP processes and food safety. The employee will demonstrate exceptional organizational and time management skills. The employee must be able to follow a recipe and make recipe conversions accurately. The position requires that the employee maintains a high level of attention to detail at all times when executing recipes, snack preparation, and portioning. The employee is expected to work as part of a team, but also possess the ability to function as a self-driven and independent component of the kitchen operation.

**Responsibilities:**

* Serves meals and/or snacks by reviewing assigned tally sheets, snack lists, recipes, and portion guides; measuring, assembling, and combining ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary station in accordance with standard food safety procedures.

* Attends to the detail and presentation of prepared snacks and menu items according to diet restrictions, allergies, and prescribed meal plans.

* Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and

Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required, and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.

* Stores leftovers according to established standards.

* Operate the dish machine, sanitize and wash dishes and put them away

* A clear understanding of weights and measures, with the ability to compute recipe conversions if needed.

* Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas throughout the workday.

* Can work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

* Is self-driven and works well independently. Is able to identify tasks that need to be completed without being assigned.

* Listens to client complaints and suggestions and resolves issues professionally within the scope of expertise.

* Implements suggestions within the parameter of position and refers more complex concerns to the supervisor.

**Qualifications and Skills:**

* Experience working in a healthcare environment or customer service is preferred.

* High school diploma or GED

* Demonstrates knowledge of and skill in the ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment
