Job Description Power Plant Operator - Mankato, MNThis is a full-time, hourly position.Starting Wage $33.78-39.08 per hour plus $2 shift differential for all hours depending on level of experience and license held.Job Qualifications:Applicant must possess basic math, science, and problem-solving skillsApplicant must be able to work in all types of climates both inside and out including extreme hot and cold temperatures, noisy environments, heights, dusty environments, all of which require use of Personal Protective EquipmentApplicant must be able to stand for long periods, work in confined spaces and have good physical dexterity, i.e., bend, kneel, climb steps and ladders, and lift 50 LbsWith training, the applicant must be able to operate heavy equipment including overhead cranes, forklifts, and skid-steersAttendance and punctuality are required including some mandatory overtimeAll employees are subject to random drug screensApplicant must have the ability to work independently in an organized safe mannerApplicants must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidaysComputer basics (Microsoft Office Suite, Maximo)Key roles:Focus on safety, quality, and integrityShift operation (procedures) and equipment checks4 Boilers, 1 Turbine GeneratorWater treatment - Reverses Osmosis, Ion ExchangeGenerate accurate legible documentation and log recordsTroubleshoot and perform basic maintenance of equipmentPreferred Experience:Requires MN 1A Boiler LicenseWhat Hours Would I be Working? Normal schedule is 4 days on, 4 days off, 12-hour shifts, alternating days and nights every 8-day rotation, including the ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
