Job Description Maintenance Scheduler - Decatur East Plant, Decatur ILThis is Salary Exempt position. Job Summary: The maintenance Scheduler is responsible for scheduling repair and maintenance activities for a team of maintenance colleagues that support plant production needs. This maintenance scheduler will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of the shift maintenance team.Essential Job Functions:Manage craft persons time off requests and update resource availability in the CMMSLead individual department maintenance scheduling meetings.Create weekly maintenance schedules utilizing input from the planning team and the production department leadership.Publish and distribute the weekly maintenance schedule to production and maintenance teamsRun and publish maintenance backlog/maintenance KPI reportsCreate and maintain a yearly maintenance plan to ensure all critical assets are being maintained according to the proper frequencies.Contributes to cost management efforts by monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.Participates in equipment zero failure efforts by evaluating functionality and reliability of production systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems, researching and implementation corrective actions.Enhances preventative maintenance programs by evaluating the function and reliability of production systems and associated equipment.Participate in focused improvement efforts of production systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes.Is a safety leader by participating in safety programs and improvement efforts, actively promotes a healthy work environment by following company policies and procedures.Takes an active role in maintenance skill enhancement by researching, developing and leading educational opportunities for maintenance colleagues.Review the scope of work and perform field walkdowns for approved work orders to determine the scope and required resources to complete the work.Edit work orders in CMMS by inputting all the necessary planning information that insures safe and efficient execution of jobs.Order all required materials, perform receipt and quality verification prior to executing workPerform frequent backlog reviews and remove completed workordersCommunicate the status of ongoing work with department leadership and make work plan adjustments accordinglyAssign duties and examine work during and after completion to ensure safety, quality, completeness and conformance to policies and proceduresCoach, mentor, and provide technical support to instrumentation, mechanical, electrical and operating technicians as related to the areas of responsibility.Acquire materials proper resources for ongoing jobs as job scope changesUnderstands their role in food safety and quality systems, actively participates in food safety efforts and ensures all activities conform to good manufacturing practices.Responsible for utilizing the Performance Excellence process. Job Qualifications:Two-year technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology is preferredExtensive training and experience in industrial electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic applications.Training and experience in process controls and instrumentation applications.Extensive knowledge and experience with our CMMS (Maximo) and AkwireDetailed understanding of a food manufacturing plant operation and maintenance.Working Conditions:DustChemicals / IrritantsThe scope of the position requires exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners common to mechanical work that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followedInside areas:Spring / Summer: Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degreesFall / Winter: Temperatures in the facility may be at or below freezingOutside areas:Spring / Summer: Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 100 degrees with potential for high humidity; may be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and windFall / Winter: Outside temperatures may reach freezing or below; may be exposed to inclement weather including, freezing rain, sleet, snow, and windSome manufacturing processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shiftPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to thirty (30) pounds on a frequent basis, up to fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basisLifting or carrying of weights over fifty (50) pounds is rare; employees are encouraged to request assistance in lifting or carrying objects that weigh more than fifty (50) poundsAbility to traverse up to two (2) miles during the course of a work dayAbility to move about or to a work site by stooping, bending, kneeling, or squatting frequently during the course of a work day; may require periods of prolonged sitting or standingAbility to operate equipment or diagnose/detect issues of machinery that may be located at different heights; may require work on ladders, scaffolding, or other work at heightsFull range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically powered tools and electrical test equipment, to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs in all buildings, and to work at heightsExcited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed?
