Overview

Monitors, troubleshoots, maintains, and continuously improves deployment of product updates and other DevOps operations. Identifies production issues and implements integrations to meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Defines and sets up processes for DevOps operations including: development, test, release, update, and support
• Strives for continuous improvement; selects and deploys appropriate continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and pipeline
• Responsible for incident management and root cause analysis; maintains documentation
• Brainstorms and establishes ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Identifies and deploys cybersecurity measures via vulnerability assessments and risk management
• Proactively monitors systems and services for performance, availability, and capacity management
• Troubleshoots complex deployment issues and identifies incident root causes; debugs, and resolves to prevent recurrence
• Deploys, manages, maintains, and operates container-based platform environments based on Docker and Kubernetes technologies

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar Software Engineering role; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to install, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters and application workload for new and existing environments using Rancher
• Ability to build and configure automated deployment of microservices to Kubernetes clusters using Helm Charts
• Ability to manage Gitlab repositories and permissions, including branching and merging strategies
• Knowledge of scripting languages
• Ability to install and administer CI/CD tools such as GitLab Pipelines, FLUX CD, GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild
• Ability to build, maintain, and extend the automated CI/CD pipeline and troubleshoot build, deploy, and release errors.
• Knowledge of several AWS services: EC2, S3, IAM, EBS, ELB, Auto Scaling, VPC, Cloud Watch, Route53, Code Pipeline, Code Deploy, Code Commit etc.
• Ability to install, configure, and maintain infrastructure and application monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and Shell scripting
• Knowledge of Atlassian software tools: Jira and Confluence
• Knowledge of databases and SQL
• Ability to organize work for timely completion
• Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
• Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Skill in Microsoft Office applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
