As a member of our team, you will be at the forefront of ideating, developing, and shipping groundbreaking experiences that build on top of the unique capabilities of Spatial Computing across a variety of areas. Our applications engineering team is uniquely positioned at the intersection of design, frameworks, operating systems, and low-level software - by joining us you will work closely with peers across these functions to deliver life-changing products to our customers. This team is working with some of Apple's most advanced technologies including Spatial Computing, augmented reality (AR), machine learning (ML), and computer vision (CV).
Key Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in software development
• Proficiency in a programming languages such as Swift, C, C , Objective-C, Python, Java.
• Extensive track record of building and shipping applications with UI/UX, CV/ML on consumer platforms
• Demonstrated technical leadership, excellent communication, fostering collaboration across team boundaries

Description
Apple makes the newest technologies accessible to create amazing user experiences. You will have the opportunity to develop prototypes at the bleeding edge of technology to find the best experiences for our products. We work closely with Apple's Human Interface design team to define the next generation of computing. The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable working in a dynamic and creative environment. Engineers are expected to work quickly and smartly to help determine the viability of ideas and technologies. You will need a keen understanding of 3D applications and an ambition to explore a new world of uncharted possibilities. You will work closely with artists, designers and engineers to define and prove new application concepts and UX paradigms, and solve incredibly challenging and interesting problems in Spatial Computing.
Education & Experience
BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experience
Additional Requirements

• Attention to detail, creativity and passion
• Good intuition in making time vs. complexity tradeoffs.
• Experience in developing algorithms, ML, AI, LLMs
• Experience developing interactive 3D or AR/VR applications or games.
• Experience with iOS frameworks such as RealityKit, ARKit, UIKit, Metal, Core Motion, etc.
• Experience with computer graphics, realtime shaders, DCC tools.
• Understanding of scientific terms, practical applications of 3D math and linear algebra

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
