Summary Posted: Jun 5, 2023 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200483274 The OS Performance team is looking for a software developer with a keen understanding of optimization techniques and performant application design to support our efforts in performance outreach and developer engagement. Our work enables iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS to perform well and gives 3rd party developers the tools and data they need to easily write great performing apps. A successful candidate will have experience with application development on Apple platforms, and an interest in optimizing and making the app experience more fluid and performant. The ideal candidate would also not only understand the fundamentals of designing and implementing a performant application for iOS, macOS, tvOS, or watchOS, but also the impact of big data on decision making in software development. Key Qualifications
Expertise in application development in either Swift or Objective-C
You understand how data influences decision making in software development
Aptitude to independently learn new technologies, prototype and propose software design and solutions
Passion for product quality and attention to detail
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking
Prior development in iOS or macOS
Excellent spoken and written communication
Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English languages
Description Work on performance problems that impact applications running on iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS. Leverage knowledge of Apple's Operating Systems to provide meaningful insights to developers to tackle challenging multi-functional performance problems. You will be solving problems in the areas of usability/UX, cross-platform compatibility, and techniques for debugging performance issues across the OS. Our team owns a wide variety of software across the entire Apple platform from on-device performance analysis to server-infrastructure for data processing. An ideal candidate will be able to effectively analyze, summarize, and communicate performance improvements to a wide developer audience. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500.00 and $243,300.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
