Maintenance Technician

We are looking for dynamic, friendly, and positive team members to join our team.

Apartment Management Professionals (AMP) proudly manages first-rate communities in some of the most desirable locations throughout Austin. The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repairs to ensure apartment units and other property facilities are in good working order. This position is responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on the apartment property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for preparing apartments for move-in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Assist in organizing and performing general duties, preventative maintenance, and repairs consistent with AMP operating and safety standards.
  • Thoroughly inspect vacated apartments, document necessary renovations, and re-inspect completed units before move-ins.
  • Routinely perform duties to restore units to “make-ready” status.
  • Responsible for repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, drywall, pools, spa and pool features, and trash management systems.
  • Routinely inspect community grounds and buildings to ensure safety standards and identify maintenance projects.
  • Respond to tenant requests in a timely manner, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws. Consistently abide by Fair Housing regulations.
  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned.

SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS

  • One – three (1-3) years' experience performing general maintenance duties.
  • HVAC, EPA, and CPO certification preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized and meet deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and lift over 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General office and workroom conditions.
  • Exposure to weather conditions when walking and working on the property.
