School Social Worker: High School-Transition

We are immediately hiring a School Social Worker to work at one of our partner schools in Burbank, IL. The chosen SSW will provide their services and support between three classrooms. Half of the SSW’s time will be spent in a High School STAR program classroom while the other half of their time will be split between two Connect classrooms (work and college readiness program). This position is full-time, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-3:15pm. 

Background on STAR and Connect Classroom Program:

S.T.A.R. Program:

This program serves pre-kindergarten through post-high school students with autism, intellectual, and other related impairments. The S.T.A. R. Program utilizes the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for skill acquisition and behavior management, Verbal Behavior (VB) for language acquisition and learning, and structured teaching strategies for communication and structure.

Connect Program:

This program supports students in High School through post-High School. The program preps and guides students for work and college.

Qualifications for the School Social Work Role:

• Master’s Degree in School Social Work (MSW) is required
• Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement is required
