MUSC is Hiring a Transplant Clinical Practice Nurse Expert Near Charleston, SC

Job Description Summary

The Transplant Clinical Practice Nurse Expert reports to the Transplant Operations Director. Under limited supervision, the Transplant Clinical Practice Nurse Expert is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and administration of education within the Transplant Service Line on a group and individualized level, to include new staff orientation, employee continuing education, general professional staff development, and ongoing training related to workflow optimization and technology utilization. This position ensures educational efforts are compliant with regulatory requirements and staff (both clinical and non-clinical) are notified and trained on any changes to policies and procedures in an efficient, effective and timely manner.

Job Description

Requirements : A minimum of BSN required and completion of MSN or graduate degree in related field acceptable from an accredited college/university within four years. Three years of clinical experience in area of expertise required. Excellent collaboration and consultation skills required. Excellent communication and teamwork skills required. Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office. Familiar with quality improvement methodology. Advanced certification in a specialized field preferred.

Preference : A minimum of five (5) years of RN nursing work experience required, with two of the years of work experience in a Transplant Coordinator role preferred. 

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
