Comunilife Inc. islooking for an experiencedOperations Shift Supervisors for its new sanctuary program opening in the Bronx in January 2024, Casa El Faro. The Operations Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing Resident Assistants and the tour operations during the shift . Each tour will have an operations supervisor, reporting to the Program Director, who will monitor the overall program performance. The Operations Supervisor will oversee food service, housekeeping, room and common areas and interface with Security and hotel staff. Reporting to the Program Director, the Operations supervisor will be the front line with the Resident Assistants, in supporting clients in the program environment. Essential Duties:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all clients. To accomplish this, you will work with a team to oversee food service, security, maintenance and client support
This position is responsible for the direct supervision of a team of Resident Assistants who are the front line in interacting with clients; providing them with access to their units, food and meal service and coordination with other program staff.
Assuring a safe environment is a key role. This is accomplished by working closely with the security team---contracted by Comunilife, who provide front door and floor security. The Operations Supervisor will liaison with security staff, identify any issues, follow-up as needed and report to the Program Director on any security issues that arise.
The program is located in a hotel, and the hotel staff is responsible for maintenance and housekeeping. The Operations supervisor will work with the hotel staff to ensure facility and room cleanlinessconduct routine inspections of rooms and common areas direct the Resident Assistants and housekeepers to follow-upand report to the Program Director on issues that arise.
Conduct regular inspections of rooms to identify any maintenance issues and coordinate with the hotel staff on repairs. Resident assistants will submit work tickets for repair, and Operations Supervisor will monitor completion of work, and update reports accordingly.
Work closely with the management team; Program Director and Assistant Program Director to ensure smooth program operations, report any issues as they arise, problem solve and communicate with all members of the team.
Ensure food service operations are smooth, and that clients are provided with meals at designated times. Ensure that all procedures are followed, and that the Resident Assistants are monitoring food distribution and storage.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirement(s)
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum two years of professional experience, with at least one year of experience in relevant roles (e.g., shelter operations, non-profits, operations management, community-based organization positions)
Previous experience working with low-income/at-risk/homeless individuals or vulnerable populations preferred
Computer skills
Proficiency with applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
